We work with families who are ready to put in the work for meaningful, long-term training that actually sticks.

Your dog doesn’t need a quick fix — they need a plan that fits your life.
Our in-home training programs are tailored to your dog’s personality, your family’s needs, and real-life situations. Together, we focus on sustainable skills and communication so your dog behaves calmly at home, on walks, and around the people you care about.
Most people want a happy, healthy and well mannered dog. That can include some basic obedience like sit, walking nicely on leash, coming when called and not jumping on people. We can help with that of course. We offer so much more than other dog trainers as we train for how to live happily with your dog. Some unwanted behaviors can be trained inadvertently, while other behaviors are in the dog’s DNA and need to be managed. We can help you to work with your dog to overcome some of the most challenging obstacles to living together.
Do any of these sound familiar to you?
(The most common reasons we get called)
*My puppy won’t sleep through the night
*My puppy/dog won’t quit chewing on things
*My dog takes things off the counter and that could cause an expensive vet visit
*My dog barks for no reason and my neighbors are complaining
*How can I get my newly added puppy/dog to get along with the other pets or children?
*I can’t walk my dog because he/she pulls me and I’m afraid I’ll fall!
*I can’t walk my dog because he barks/acts aggressively to people or dogs walking by
*Why won’t my puppy quit biting me?
These are common issues that many dog owners face. To address these behaviors, it’s important to first understand the underlying cause of the behavior. For example, a dog that doesn’t sleep through the night may be experiencing separation anxiety. It could also simply be a breed that is prone to being more active at night. A dog that chews on inappropriate things may be doing so out of boredom or lack of proper chewing toys. A counter surfing dog may be motivated by the smell of food. It might have learned that this behavior is rewarded with treats it steals for itself. A dog that barks at visitors may be protective, excited or anxious. Rachelle was great and was so helpful with our dog. After 3 lessons, he has improved so much with coming when called, barking, jumping, and dropping/leaving things along. I would definitely recommend Loving Arms, and it was well worth it! Jake J. (from Google reviews)
How I Help
Every dog’s behavior has a reason. Once we understand the why, we can create a personalized plan to help you and your dog succeed — in real-life situations, not just during training sessions.
I make training effective and enjoyable for both you and your dog by using positive reinforcement, Fear Free techniques, and practical behavior modification. I also use management strategies such as structured exercise and mental enrichment to support learning and reduce frustration.
What We Work On
Whether you’re welcoming a new puppy or assisting an adult or rescue dog to adjust, small changes can make a big difference. Consistency in these changes is key.
I guide families through:
- Puppy socialization, potty training, and early manners
- Leash skills and real-world walking challenges
- Improving manners and confidence in adult and rescue dogs
Each training plan is customized to your dog’s personality, environment, and your family’s goals.
What Makes This Approach Different
Training is not just about teaching cues — it’s about communication.
I teach you, hands-on, how to read your dog as they’re learning. This helps you continue building skills, confidence, and understanding long after our sessions end. Training becomes something your family grows with, not something that stops when lessons are over.
Collaborating with the entire family ensures your dog is set up for success at home and in everyday life.
Why This Works
I believe there are no bad dogs — only miscommunication between dogs and their people.
My training methods are positive-based, results-oriented, and novice-friendly. This helps bridge the gap between what your dog is telling you and how you interpret it. It makes learning clearer, calmer, and more rewarding for everyone involved.
Together, we build good habits, strengthen your bond, and create progress you can celebrate — now and for years to come. In your home training programs start at $1295. All programs are customized to what your dog knows already and what the family needs help with. Rachelle is incredible! My wife and I both like what we’re seeing in both our dogs and us. Her teaching techniques are superb. Well worth the price! Mark L. (from Google reviews)

Ms. Rachelle at Loving Arms Pet Services has been amazing!!! We have done 3 of our 6 scheduled sessions so far. I needed help to try and correct a couple of behaviors for one of my dogs. Not only has she already helped with those, she works with both of my dogs on other behaviors I just thought I had to live with! During our 45 min weekly sessions, Ms. Rachelle is focused on working with the dogs and giving me helpful hints/tricks. She checks back in later in the week to see how it’s going. I can truly tell that she loves working with dogs. I’m so grateful that I found her! Both of my dogs are listening and behaving better which in turn makes my life easier. Shawna F. (Google review)
